Located in Whangaparaoa, Auckland, our shelter The Paw Pad is a large communal space for unsocialised teenage and adult cats that have been born on or found living on the streets in our community. Our huge team of volunteers work with them, and once settled and able to be handled they are moved into foster homes to prepare them to find their forever homes.
VOLUNTEERING AT OUR SHELTER
Our volunteer positions are 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm daily. We have set weekly shifts and also have a team of casual volunteers to help with shift cover. Each shift takes around 2-3 hours. This ensures that at all times there are clean litter trays, full food and water bowls, beds are clean, and the shelter is in a constant clean and tidy state. It also allows lots of interaction with our residents which is very important for their socialisation. If you would like to volunteer at our shelter, please fill in our Application Form and email to danielle@gutterkitties.co.nz
WEEKLY SPONSORSHIP
With an average of 80 residents at any one time, our expenses are huge! A single vet visit for sedation, blood tests and a dental is $900-$1200! We also have general vet fees, surgical fees, medications, power, water, building and maintenance costs, cleaning equipment, toys, food, litter, flea and worm treatments and more. Your support is the reason we can operate a shelter for the most vulnerable of our rescues.
SPONSOR TODAY!!!
By setting up a weekly sponsorship for The Paw Pad from just $5 per week, you can directly make a huge difference to the lives of every single cat who comes through The Paw Pad's door, and also make having a shelter possible!
